Are you Wasting or Waiting?

Do you have a vision burning and want to jump in? But doors aren’t opening and everything you try falls flat?

Are you waiting for special revelation from God about what to do now in regards to your vision? Or even wondering what the vision is for your life?

What in the world do we do with these gap seasons of life? We can twiddle our thumbs and waste the time. Or we can take a more active approach.

In the Bible, vision often came years before the acting upon that vision. Think Moses (read part of his story in Genesis 2-4). He wanted to deliver the Israelites from slavery, but spent 40 years a shepherd in the desert before the time was right.

Was he wasting or waiting?

Think about it. Because he had lived 40 years in the desert, he understood what it meant to live in the desert which the Israelites did for 40 years. Moses developed patience and humility. Waiting times are not without purpose in God’s story.

This is the time God matures us. He prepares us to walk out the vision. He grows our relationship to Him. He prepares doors to open. Others to join us in the vision. Understanding  of His process for the vision. Grows us in the knowledge necessary to do the task.

How do we actively participate in this waiting season? What do we do while waiting on further revelation of His plan?

God has already revealed to us much of His will for our lives. How He wants us to live. What he wants us to do. Through His written word. When we don’t feel His presence. When we doubt we heard His voice. When we’re not sure what to do. We can seek out what God has already shown us.

Once we have gotten into the word, we need to allow the word to get into us.

Allow His word to change and transform us through the power of His Holy Spirit, who makes the word leap to life in our hearts and produces fruit in accordance to e will and plan of God. Then we can be like the wise men who not just heard the words of Jesus, but acted on them (Matthew 7:24-27).

If we build on what the world wants us to believe, we will be standing on a fault line, one that is liable to give way when the pressures of life erupt.

Let’s stand on the word of God.
