Expectations and Plans

I had my plan in place for my Living! video series.

I had recorded some new clips, but when I sat down to edit them, I wasn’t happy with how they turned out, so it was back to the drawing board and my new plan had to wait. Learning to use video sometimes means glitches, do-overs and throw-aways.

Writing, marketing, homeschooling, parenting, being a wife. All areas in life require do-overs and throw-aways at times. A change in plans becomes necessary. A shift in focus from previous expectations.

Some days I find this process frustrating and overwhelming. Okay, make that most days. I like to make a list, get things done then mark it off the list. Be in control. But life doesn’t always cooperate and I find plenty of opportunity to exercise my roll-with-the-punches muscles.

I know what helps. Time with God helps. Getting plenty of rest and exercise as well as eating well.  But I struggle with being consistent and end up falling flat on my face.

It’s a good thing God allows do-overs. Back to the drawing board. Want to join me?

What areas in your life do you find the need for do-overs?
Have you taken up God on the offer of a do-over?
