Later this week there will be more book related posts, but for today, join me on my regular Monday posting: Journey to Trust

In Where Hope Starts, the main character comes to a crossroads in her faith. Will she trust God? On Mondays I blog about that journey of faith that every believer travels and ask others to link up their post encouraging women in their walk of faith.

Why should we trust God?

He Keeps His word:

God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. 1 Corinthians 1:9 NIV
There are others who have walked this way and found Him faithful.
Therefore(check out Hebrews 11), since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1 NIV
He loves us and gave His son
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
The demons believe He is God. Why do I deny it?
Even the demons believe that–and shudder. James 2:19 NIV
He is powerful – He raised Jesus from the dead.
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. Romans 8:11 NIV
He knows more than I do.
Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!

Evidence:What He has done for me already

I like the way this old hymn puts it.

My hope is built on nothing less
            than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

When Darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest on his unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
my anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, his covenant, his blood
supports me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay.

When he shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in him be found!
            Dressed in his righteousness alone,
faultless to stand before the throne!

On Christ the solid rock I stand,
                   all other ground is sinking sand;
all other ground is sinking sand.
