Overcoming – Even in Our Darkest Moments
Life can be a struggle. How often do we question God when bad things happen,  laying the blame for evil at His feet? After all, he’s God! He could  intervene.
When my heroine loses her big brother in a tragic accident, she collapses inwardly rather than turning to the God she was raised to trust. She still does the outward things a  Christian is supposed to do, however, her heart is filled with constant fear and insecurities. The guilt she feels over her brother’s death mixes with this fear and blinds her to the truth that can set her free.
God gently guides her to realize that although she feels God abandoned her, she was the one who left him. She realizes God has been there all along, loving her, leading her, protecting her in ways she could not fathom.
Beth discovers that without holding on to Jesus, she cannot overcome anything – and she has much to overcome! John 15:5 says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (ESV)
As God’s loving hand guides Beth through utter darkness, she  learns the deep, penetrating truth of these words and determines to overcome the darkness and fear that seek to suck her under.
Do you live with deep-seeded fears? Is there anxiety in your heart, or that ball of stress in your gut that plagues you at the most inconvenient times? Beth believed lies of false guilt and unworthiness. Those lies kept her from turning to God in her brother’s tragic death, but she learns that fear comes from the evil one, not from God. What lies interfere with your relationship with Jesus and trusting Him with all your heart?

About Finding Beth
Three years ago, Beth Gallagher lost her brother, Josh, in a tragic accident. Grief-stricken and estranged from her father, she turned to the one man her brother warned her about — Kyle Heinrich.
Now she’s discovered his dark side.
She flees to the Smoky Mountains to clear her mind and seek God’s will about her impending marriage. With the help of a new friend, she finds the answers she needs, but will she have the resolve to follow through? And, if so, what will it cost her?
Adam Blythe had given up on finding a woman to love him for himself rather than his money. Committed to caring for his ailing mother and running the family business, he suddenly finds his heart entangled with a woman already spoken for. Can he find a way to protect her?
Kyle Heinrich is used to getting his way, so when his fiancée leaves town without a word, he is furious. When she returns with a new man by her side, he determines to make her his — one way or another.
