When she’s offered a lucrative position by one of the community’s most powerful men to help his traumatic-brain-injured daughter improve her communication skills, Maven discovers deadly secrets behind the iron gates of the mansion.

Now, she must find the courage to seek justice no matter who gets hurt–even if it’s her.

A message for you from the author:
Life isn’t always a bowl of cherries!
Life can be difficult. I know this very well! Two years ago I was diagnosed with bilateral benign tumors. The good news was that they were benign. The bad news just because they’re benign didn’t mean they wouldn’t wreak havoc in my life!

And they have—but let’s not dwell on the bad news.

As with most writers, when something happens in my life I immediately connect it back to my writing in some way or in this case many ways. I now write devotions for my own blog as well as for others encouraging those who face physical trials.

But my real-life problems have also affected by fiction writing. As a writer of suspense and mystery stories, my characters are always facing problems—life and death problems, but I wanted to take that to a new level.

I wanted to show people with real-life problems while being involved in the suspense part of the story. After all life doesn’t stop when we get a bad diagnosis or have a tragedy in our life.

Life keeps going and so must we. Or at least that’s the message I want my readers to get as they read my latest release—DEADLY COMMUNICATIONS.

It’s not always easy to create characters with real-life problems while entertaining readers, but I think I’ve done that with Deadly Communications. It features Maven Morris, a crime-fighting speech pathologist! (I was a speech pathologist for more than 30 years.)

After a series of life-changing events, Maven can’t find a reason to get out of bed. But her best friend won’t give up until she gets Maven up and moving. Once Maven gets out of bed, her compassion and curiosity propel the story forward until she finds herself in some dangerous situations.

Maven and I both know that life isn’t always a bowl of cherries! But we’re also learning that attitude is half the battle as we face difficulties in this life. The other half is trusting God in the good times and the bad.
