New Fruit

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thorn bush will grow the pine tree,
and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the LORD’s renown, for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed.” Isaiah 55:10-13 (NIV)

The image comes to mind of the pioneers who moved west. They came to a new land and had to create homes in places that were not very home friendly. Planting trees where there were no trees. Digging up rocks in order to plant crops. Growing new things that had never been grown in those places.

As we allow the Holy Spirit to work the soil of our lives, and plant the seed of God’s word in our hearts, there will be new fruit.

In place of bitterness, there will be peace.

In place of hate, there will be love.

In place of darkness, there will be light.

In place of despair, there will be hope.

What has God done in your life?

In place of ______________, there is now ______________ !

Praise the Lord!
