Hope

I feel it in the early morning hours just before the sun rises. The air is fresh and all is still.  Then I hear the birds singing. A lightening of the darkness begins to hint at day coming. At this moment, I can sense God’s presence more easily than in other moments. Perhaps because my mind isn’t busy with MY plans. My body hasn’t yet revved up to MY activities for the day. I’m simply resting in the taste of dawn. Enjoying the promise of HIM. Hope swells in my soul.

This last weekend we all had the opportunity to celebrate Christ’s resurrection. Even more wonderful is getting to rejoice in His resurrection every day. I pray this gives you as much hope as it does me because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power AT WORK IN US.

No matter our mess ups, our frailties, or our stubborn hearts, HE is our hope that tomorrow will be better.

During those seasons when there seems to be no end to the suffering, the pain, or the loss, we still hope for HIS comfort and strength through it all.

And more than anything, we hope for the day HE returns. That will be the best day of all.

“…those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not
grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (NIV
