K is for Karaoke

As I begin this journey to being a published author, it is easy to look at this or that author already published and think if I just did what they’re doing, wrote the way they wrote, success would be sure to follow or come more quickly.
While we do tend to emulate things we like in others, and this can help us to grow up and improve, it is dangerous to compare and draw conclusions on our success or failure based on the fact that we have different ministries or voices in what we do.
I don’t do Karaoke. I don’t like to sing in front of anyone. But I understand the idea is to sing along to someone else’s music. Someone else’s tune.
In life outside the box, I want to be sure I don’t try and live someone else’s life. I have to sing(write) the words God gave me to sing(write) to the tune(in the voice and direction) He gave me.
Then it will ring true. It will accomplish what God intends for it to accomplish. And He always supplies what is needed for the job He gives us to do.
