P is for Pet Peeve

I have a pet. His name is peeve. Would you like to meet him?
The ice trays left empty after the ice is used up. Grrr. (My pet likes to growl)
Dishes left piled in the sink, when everyone is capable of at least rinsing and putting them in the dishwasher. (Yap! Yap!)
The toilet roll dispenser left empty. (Whine)
My things lost or misplaced by others. (Attack!)
Do you have a pet peeve, too?
All of these things spell an interruption to my carefully laid out agenda. They are irritating or annoying, but not deserving of offense status. Yet I often react as though they are.
However, God uses everything. If I choose to respond God’s way with kindness, love, patience, understanding and grace, all these minor readjustments will build character.
Warning: Don’t feed the pet peeve! Especially after midnight!
And whatever you do, don’t water it.
