T is for Tombstone

When considering what kind of legacy you want to leave when you die, I’ve heard it said that you should think about what you want written on your tombstone.
I Googled tombstones to see what kind of interesting epitaphs would show up. I found “L.O.L.” on one – Those were actually this person’s initials. I wonder if they were a cheerful person?
Another one proclaimed “Died from not forwarding that text message to 10 people.” I guess we know what they think about all those posts you’re encouraged to pass on “or else”.
And I would like to know who had “Santa Clause” put on the tombstone. Did they want to make the kids cry or was that really his name?

I don’t think they arranged headstones in Bible times, but someone could have had a lot of fun with Elisha’s. Shortly after he died, some dead man was tossed in next to Elisha in his grave(the grave diggers were in a hurry to get out of the cemetery because of some bad guys). And the man came back to life (II Kings 13:20-21)!

I don’t really want some body thrown in next to mine, but whatever is said of me on my tombstone (I assume I won’t get the chance to write that for myself) I hope that the words I write and the life I live will bring blessings and life to the people who read them and know me.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue…Proverbs 18:21
