Who Left the Dog in Charge?

For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
Romans 6:14(NIV)
We use a stick in the groove along the base of our sliding glass door for extra security when we lock up. Simple and effective.
One day, I was out on the deck filming my interview question for CrossRiver Media. My husband was with me. When it was time to go in, we discovered the door to be locked. “How did that happen?” We pounded on the door and our daughter rescued us from the heat.
Our dog, a German shepherd/golden retriever mix, was the only one near the door while we were filming. We finally figured out that while lying next to the door watching us, he somehow laid on top of the stick and rolled it into the groove that locked us out.
Talk about the servant being in charge of the master!
Sin is like that. We often think it’s all “under control” when in reality, sin has locked us out of our blessings. It’s time to turn the dog out of the house!
Is there a “dog” in charge in your life, you need to kick out?
