Life and Research.

You’re writing fiction, but in order for it to be realistic, to keep your audience reading the whole story, you have to do your research.

It’s a good idea to do your research in real life, too. Relationships are shattered when assumptions are made because the truth wasn’t sought out.
A friend of mine almost died because of a misdiagnosis. Sharp pain sent her to the hospital. The first round of doctors could not figure out what the problem was and prepared her for the worst.
But another doctor came in, asked the right questions and probed into her abdomen with his fingertips. His diagnosis of a ruptured appendix sent her to the operating room and saved her life.
We often take things at face value without due process of research. And the first assumptions may be wrong and spell the end of precious relationships.
So take a tip from a fiction writer and when rumors arise that stir trouble, go to the source and discover the truth.

Have you ever misdiagnosed a relationship problem and regretted your choice of actions or words?
